What files does the Favicon Generator create?

It generates a complete favicon package: favicon.ico (multi-size 16/32/48px), individual PNGs for all platforms (Apple Touch 180px, Android Chrome 192px & 512px, MS Tile 150px), plus a site.webmanifest and browserconfig.xml configuration file.

No. This tool runs 100% in your browser using the Canvas API. Your image never leaves your device — all resizing, ICO encoding, and ZIP packaging happen locally.

What size should my source image be?

Accepted Answer

For best results, use a square (1:1) image that is at least 512×512 pixels. The largest output is 512×512 for Android Chrome, so anything smaller may result in blurry icons at large sizes.
